When the same conversation keeps returningYou may argue about small things while a larger concern stays unspoken. Or you may avoid difficult subjects because you expect the discussion to go badly. Couples counselling at Praktijk Ruimte offers time to look together at what happens between you, without deciding in advance what your relationship should become. Both perspectives have spaceWe usually begin together. Each partner can explain what brought them and what they hope to change. We make agreements about taking turns, pauses and how we handle information shared outside joint sessions. You can ask about these agreements before starting.Recognise the pattern behind a familiar disagreement.Practise expressing a need without speaking for your partner.Discuss distance, trust and decisions about the future.Choose the direction togetherA joint session lasts 75 minutes. We agree on a focus and check whether the conversations remain useful for both of you. The aim is clearer understanding and more considered choices, rather than a promised outcome. Before continuing, we discuss costs, frequency and suitability. We also consider whether joint conversations offer enough safety for both partners or whether another form of support would fit better.
